TanHoldings 1 coasts past Joeten 2


TanHoldings 1 routed Joeten 2, 83-63, in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Sunday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.

TanHoldings 1 cruised to victory after building an early double-digit lead, 27-10. Elmer Esdrelon and Fradel Sedilllo joined forces in the team’s strong start, scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Joeten 2 fell behind after the first period, as it only made five field goals in the opening 10 minutes of play. Only J.P. Cruz hit more than one basket for Joeten 2, as he delivered 6 of their total points in the first frame.

After a so-so performance early in the game, Joeten 2 picked up its scoring in the next three periods, but TanHoldings 1 countered and even outgunned the former in the third, 23-18, to keep the safe lead.

Sedillo added 6 points in the penultimate quarter, while Dindo Pablo also contributed 6, as TanHoldings 1 stretched its advantage to 21, 65-44, going into the final period.

Joeten 2 did not make enough headway in fourth canto, allowing TanHoldings 1 to take a 20-point winning margin.

Sedillo showed the way for TanHoldings 1 with his 26 points, while Esdrelon added 22. Pablo and Rey Dimafelix also finished in twin digits with 12 apiece, while Adonis Macoto chipped in 11.

Cruz paced Joeten 2 with his 18 markers.
