TDHC justifies closure of casino
The casino located inside the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino shut down last Friday due to a significant drop in guests following Typhoon Soudelor and the resulting cancellation of flights from China.
While the casino was shut down temporarily, Tinian Dynasty said the hotel and limited restaurant services will remain open.
A spokesperson from Tinian Dynasty commented on the shutdown by stating that with the drop in tourism it does not make economic sense to keep open all of Tinian Dynasty’s operations.
Closing the casino also gives Tinian Dynasty an opportunity to install enhanced surveillance systems and implement updated compliance programs.
The longterm plan of the company will bring in new operators along with additional funding to improve the property and increase the number of tourists to Tinian. That plan has not changed and Tinian Dynasty will continue to put in more effort coordinating with regulators and investors. (PR)
