Teams inspect incoming cargo at Tanapag harbor

SANTA RITA, Guam—A multi-agency strike force operation, or MASFO, was conducted on Feb. 6 to Feb. 9 at the Tanapag harbor to enforce federal and territorial regulations ensuring the safe transport of cargo while deterring and detecting contraband moving through the port.

The operation brought together the U.S. Coast Guard, the CNMI Division of Customs, and Guam Homeland Security.

A total of 20 agents, officers and inspectors participated in this enforcement operation that resulted in 149 containerized cargo inspections.

The teams inspected freight containers and vehicles ensuring compliance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code as well as CNMI Custom regulations. (USCG)
