Volunteers sought for Tank Beach cleanup

The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality’s Cleanup Brigade will be picking up trash at Tank Beach in Kagman this Saturday, Dec. 9.

If you would like to volunteer, meet the BECQ representatives on Saturday at the Tank Beach entrance at 8am. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10am and break for drinks and then continue, if needed.

This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least three cleanups will receive a brigade T-shirt.

For more information about volunteering, contact the BECQ at 664-8500/1. (BECQ)

  1. Why not have the “prisoner’s brigade” help out? Have them repay the taxpayers for paying for their room and board. Has any smart politicos in office today, ever thought of of having them help out with at least picking up thrashes to clean our community surroundings? With a bit of imagination, it can be done.

    1. I think this is a brilliant idea for the future clean-ups around the island. DOC just has to invest in electrocuting ankle bracelets that would stop them if they attempt to run wild and out of sight

      1. I absolutely agree with your suggestion so no jail buster may have any funny ideas to become unaccounted runaway afterwards. Brilliant Mrs. Giggles!
