Over 200 million viewers on over 200 television stations in China will have the opportunity to learn about Saipan and Tinian in September 2015 on the program “What a Wonderful World.”
A five-person team from the program recently filmed extensively over eight days on the two islands for the show, which targets travel lovers.
According to MVA Marketing manager Bruce Bateman, the group gushed about the “very nice weather, great (Taste of the Marianas) event, beautiful flame trees blooming, seven-color ocean, warm and friendly local people, beautiful tropical fish and sea turtles, (and) amazing sunset.”
While on Saipan, the group took a submarine tour, filmed at Mariana Resort & Spa seaside chapel and Mandi Asia Spa, took a Let’s Go ATV tour on Mt. Tapochao, sampled local food with Hula Girl at Sabalu Market, and toured Marianas Tropical Liqueurs. They also took a Marpi sightseeing tour, enjoyed a lunch buffet at Kanoa Resort & Spa, and visited 888 DFS.
On Tinian, the group took island and off-road buggy tours, visited a shooting range, dined at Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino, took in stargazing, and went fishing.
“They especially enjoyed our famous Taga Beach,” added MVA Marketing specialist Laura Hsiao, who escorted the group during their tour. “When they went to film around 5pm, they saw the happy local kids and adults jumping into the water and they wanted to jump, too! They jumped and loved it so much. They hope to come back to Tinian for vacation. They saw a local family having a beach BBQ party, so they got their permission to film and interview the family. At Coral Garden and near Turtle Cove, the water is so clear and warm. They couldn’t believe that they could see so many tropical fish and sea turtles swimming around them.”
Upon their return to Saipan, the group continued their coverage at the NMI Museum of History & Culture, on a limo tour, at Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course and Double Eagle Restaurant, at Managaha, while parasailing, at Kinpachi Restaurant, during a BBQ lunch, at Paseo de Marianas and various stores.
The group lodged at Mariana Resort & Spa and Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino during their FAM tour. (MVA)
