YCO Hardware’s True Value store opens its new location on Beach Road besides the Marianas Eye Institute today.
Dante Yumul, YCO’s store manager, believes their new store will continue to serve the hardware needs of customer on islands with better parking and more space for its items.
Their new 10,000 square feet location is 4,000 sq. ft. more than their original site. A bigger facility, Yumul said, means more products and items to meet the hardware needs of its customers.
True Value will now sell appliances like refrigerators, washers, and dryers. The new store will also have an improved tile, nuts and bolts, and plumbing sections, Yumul said.
“Customers can expect a bigger facility and new products,” he said.
True Value is a family-run store. Dante is the youngest brother in his family. His dad Jess Yumul opened the store in 1975. The family has been serving customers for 39 years on island. Six months from now in April, they will be hosting their 40th anniversary celebration.
“We’re still here 39 years later, opening a new location. This is home to us. This is what we do. We’re hardware people. We serve the community this way,” he said.
YCO Hardware is “geared to stay,” Yumul said. He wants to thank the community for all the support during their almost four decades of business.
He hopes to have Christmas holiday specials in the next few weeks. In April, for their 40th anniversary, Yumul expects even more promotions.
He invites the community to come in today and check out their new store. They are open from are 8am to 5pm, from Monday to Saturday.
“We’re always open to new suggestions. While we have a lot of new products, we might not have it all, so I’m sure we can custom-tailor things for our clients’ needs,” he said.
