The cycle of domestic violence

I just had a concern about a story I read tonight about the man who hit his wife with a meat cleaver. Someone who is familiar with the subject of domestic violence needs to get his wife into counseling while he is in jail. The more apologetic an abused spouse is indicates the severity of the danger she and her children are in. A social worker should interview the children separately, without the mother to make sure they aren’t being abused. There was a child here in North Carolina who was killed by a stepmother. The mistake made by DSS was that they talked to the child in front of the stepmother. I’m sure you heard of the Zarah Baker story. I am really worried about the lady there in Saipan and her daughters. I hope someone will help her understand the cycle of domestic violence. I wish she could understand that she needs to take her daughters and go into hiding while he is in jail. I’ll be praying for her.
