November is Assistive Technology Awareness Month

The Governor's Developmental Disabilities Council (GDDC) is sponsoring a health forum on Nov. 3, 1999 at the Saipan Grand Hotel from 8:00 am to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. as part of the activities for Assistive Technology Awareness Month.

Stephens again passed over for Nobel

Northern Mariana Islands (Gonzo Wire Service)--People in this small tropical commonwealth were shocked when their resident economist, Ed Stephens Jr., was not awarded the Nobel Prize for economics yesterday. The award instead went to Robert A. Mundell of Columbia University.

Another oversight hearing?

I have been getting phone calls and fax messages from concerned citizens, especially government employees, regarding the present makeup of the Retirement Fund Board and the decision of some on the board to elect Mr. Juan S. Torres to manage that Fund.
