Continental Airlines has announced that effective Nov. 1, 2008, the carry-on baggage requirement will be reduced from 51 linear inches to 45 linear inches within the 50 States, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Maximum weight allowed for carry-on baggage is 40 pounds or 18 kilos.
