World Resort donates $12K for Haiyan relief

A day after donating $10,000 to the Public School System, Saipan World Resort last Wednesday cut another check for $12,250, this time for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

‘Surcharge’ eyed to fund terminated PMIC contract

In its proposal to increase the electric base rate of power customers, the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. disclosed that also factored in the equation is a surcharge to pay for the balance that is owed an independent power producer whose contract with CUC was terminated over a year ago.

UMDA distributes $250,000 in corporate earnings

United Micronesia Development Association board chair Jose “Joe” R. Lifoifoi took the opportunity at the recently concluded 19th Micronesian Chief Executives Summit on Saipan to distribute $250,000 in corporate earnings to the leaders whose governments have stocks in the company.
