What started out as a wholesome game of finger-wrestling resulted in an accident that confined a 15-year-old Marianas High School student to the hospital.

Department of Public Safety Fire Unit personnel rushed to the MHS campus earlier this week to respond to an emergency call made by school authorities involving a high school student.

The victim, whose name has not been disclosed, sustained a twisted right middle finger, resulting from a finger-wrestling match with a schoolmate, according to police.

In an interview with authorities, the victim stated he had bid his playmate to stop the finger struggle but his warning apparently came too late.

The boy said he found his middle finger already twisted.

The injured student then reported the incident to school authorities and from there medical assistance was sought.

The teenager was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for further treatment. (MM)
