BEH intensifies inspections
The Bureau of Environmental Health ordered the temporary closure of a restaurant in Garapan until the establishment is able to address environmental and sanitation concerns raised by the agency.
BEH ordered the closure of Wonderful Restaurant in Garapan last March 21 due to serious violation of Health and Sanitation Standards, according to the government agency in a media advisory.
A day later, BEH allowed the re-opening of the restaurant after inspectors noted that operators of the establishment quickly acted to address health and sanitation concerns.
Not only that, Wonderful Restaurant even received the highest rating of Grade A, in terms of its compliance with BEH standards when it was inspected a day after its closure.
Wonderful Restaurant was only one of the several food outlets and establishments inspected by the Bureau during the week of March 18-24, where numerous businesses received high rating for their strict compliance with health and sanitation standards of the Commonwealth.
Among the restaurants and food establishments that received an “A” Grade were: Country House Restaurant, Garapan; Miggy’s Home Made Cuisine, Garapan; Brass Restaurant, Garapan; Wonderful Restaurant, Garapan; Wood House Restaurant, Chalan Laulau; Highway Market, Gualo Rai; Nang Ocha Store, San Vicente; San Vicente Food Mart, San Vicente; Escolastica Store & Bakery, Capitol Hill; Isabella Gift Shop, San Jose; XO Market, Chalan Laulau; and Dasom Retail, Gualo Rai.
Those that received Grade “B” were: Cristy’s Mini Mart, Garapan; Jin Hui Store, Garapan; M. Celis Store, Gualo Rai; Niko Market, San Roque; XO Market Butcher, Chalan Laulau; and Dandan Market, Dandan.
Establishments that were given Grade “C” include: New Oriental Restaurant, Garapan and the Coconut Tei Restaurant, Garapan.
