CUC hires company to do background check on applicants for executive director

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has hired a company in the U.S. mainland to do the background check on those who applied for the executive director position.

CUC acting executive director Betty G. Terlaje also disclosed yesterday that one applicant is qualified for the position, but they’re waiting for his background check.

Terlaje said once they get the background check, the CUC board will schedule an interview.

“The background check is what we’re waiting for. That’s ongoing right now,” she said.

Terlaje said 22 applied and the one who is qualified is from the mainland.

CUC has been searching for an executive director since Gary P. Camacho resigned in February 2023. Terlaje has been serving as acting executive director for almost a year now.
