Eleven Tiger, MP United bag debut wins in MSL 1, 2
Eleven Tiger and MP United are off to a roaring start as they both bagged wins in the Marianas Soccer League 2 Fall 2023 and MSL 1 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Eleven Tiger in MSL 1 claimed two wins—a 5-2 victory over Latte FC last Thursday and a 2-1 win over MP United last Sunday.
Their game face was on as Eleven Tiger barely gave Latte FC possession later in the match. Sunjoon Tenorio made it 1-0 in the 7th minute, but Latte’s Jerome Mettao equalized the match in the 14th minute.
Eleven Tiger then ambushed Latte with two back-to-back goals before the end of the first half, for a 3-1 lead. Silence then reigned as both teams stalked through the pitch—in a tug of war with the ball.
But Eleven Tiger’s defense went on to shut down Latte, while Akira Kadokura made it 4-1. Eleven Tiger scored their fifth goal made by Tanapon Unsa in the 61st minute. Only until the very last minute did Latte’s Nolan Ngewakl score their second goal.
In their game against MP United, R.J. Narvaez and Unsa scored a goal each while MP United’s Jireh Yobech notched a goal in the 42nd minute. MP United could not score after that and lost by just one goal.
Over in MSL 2, MP United defeated Shirley’s Football Club, 5-1, last Sunday.
Shirley’s Oliver Gragasin drew first blood for a 1-0 lead, but MP United’s James Salalila quickly retaliated and tied it up just a few seconds later.
From there, it was all downhill for Shirley’s as MPU’s Gaige Porras scored two goals, while Athan Taisague and Maui Johnson scored a goal each. Shirley’s could not add to their goals after that and lost the first game of the season.
In other results of MSL 2, Matansa FC and WNT Development Team ended in a 3-3 draw; Old B Bank drew a 2-2 match with Shirley’s FC 1; and Bangladesh FC blanked Hana FC, 2-0.
In other results of MSL 1, MP United came out unscathed, 5-0, against NMI U15 NT; and Kanoa FC edged Paire FC, 6-2.

Eleven Tiger’s Tanapon Unsa attempts a goal during their game against Latte FC in the Marianas Soccer League 1 Fall 2023 match at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
