MHS II only undefeated v-ball team of season

In a great season of upsets, Marianas High School II was the only team to come out unscathed in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Girls High School Volleyball League 2023-2024, as they wrapped up the regular season last Thursday at the MHS Gymnasium.

MHS II bagged a perfect 8-0 record after they won in two sets over sister team, MHS III.

MHS III put up a great fight in the first set as the points went back-and-forth, but MHS got the upper hand in the end and took the win by just 2 points, 21-19.

The second set was a more masterful execution for MHS II’s rotation of Jayme Vargas, Jean Roldan, Jillian Ferrer, Abbie Kim, Ella Hall, Fiona Regan, Leilani Attao, Peaches Bayot, Erica Zandueta, and Angel Ocaya, as they ripped their sister Dolphins apart in a quick 21-16 second set for the win.

In other results, Saipan International II trounced Mount Carmel School II, 21-8, 21-12; Kagman High School II made light work of Saipan Southern High School II, 21-11, 21-12; Saipan Southern High School upset MHS in three tough sets, 18-21, 21-19, 15-6; Agape Christian School edged MCS, 21-19, 21-16; and SIS slipped past KHS, 21-6, 19-21, 15-6.

The regular season varsity standings are Grace Christian Academy with the top seed at a 7-1 record; ACS at No. 2 with a 6-2 record; SIS is No. 3 at a 5-3 record; Tinian High School is tied for fourth at a 4-3 record; MCS and MHS are tied for fifth with THS with a 4-4 record each; SSHS is next with a 3-5 record; then KHS is last at 1-7.
