To Ambrosio Bennett

My name is Pedro DLG. Pangelinan, known as Pangie. I am tired of reading your naïve, prejudiced, and one-track opinions in the newspaper. Do not get me wrong, I know you have a right to say what you want, but write something truthful and constructive.

First, I would like to ask the newspaper editor to print exactly what I want the people to know about this prejudiced man’s attitude about us locals. Now it is my turn to contradict you.

Ambrosio Bennett, weren’t you one of those teachers who used to teach at Hopwood Jr. High School who participated in having students suspended because you caught them smoking marijuana or caught them with marijuana in their possession? Right!

Now that you are retired, you want to legalize marijuana. A couple of weeks ago at CUC, when you were going to pay your bills, and again at the Legislature a week after, I confronted you with the same question on how or what solution you have to improve our economy. You answered, legalize marijuana in the CNMI because there are over 15 states in the U.S. that are earning millions and millions of dollars for their treasury. We can sell marijuana to tourists, was your answer. You almost made me jump out of my pants. What a turnaround. You used to have students suspended because of marijuana and now that is your answer?

As you need to mention in your articles, use your common sense. Ambrosio, I think your common sense has run away from you. Why?

You overlooked a couple of important factors: 1.) In any U.S. cities, there are over half a million to a million-plus living in them. The entire CNMI population is only 50,000 to 60,000. You need eight times or more to equal the population of any city in the U.S. 2.) Many of the tourists coming to visit our beautiful islands are family oriented. I do not think they will smoke marijuana in front of their kids, regardless of what nationality they are. You on the other hand make me wonder. 3.) Prisons in the U.S. are overflowing with criminals. No matter what position a person chooses to call marijuana, it is still a drug and it causes a different reaction in any person. Marijuana is a mild drug compared to more potent drugs. Pretty soon people who smoke marijuana will look for stronger drugs. So that is where the trouble begins, when Mary Jane smokers switch. 4.) Ambrosio, since I started to know you, I am beginning to realize that you are also a vengeful and vindictive person. How, why, and what makes me say this about you? I believe that whenever you ask something from someone and you do not get what you want, you start blasting, criticizing, and saying things about that person in your articles. I first realized about this nature or sick head of yours way back when we first met at Hopwood as my daughter’s teacher. You asked me to mention something to someone as a favor so I can ask Pete A. Tenorio to help you. I did. But you wrote an article against him. And as time goes by, you continue to criticize our elected people. Who do you think you are? What have you done to be given credit for, except to open your mouth with your naïve, vindictive and prejudiced articles? You are a sick man, nephew. Go to the hospital and have yourself checked in. Crazy man, crazy.

You complain in one article that you have been harassed. Who do you think you are, my nephew? You really think that we only think about our 25 percent? That we are easily mislead and could not think for ourselves? Back off, conceited son. As I mentioned earlier, we the retirees are family-oriented. We the retirees will pitch in to help our family. To purchase school clothes, school supplies, food for the table, help for medical referral and hospital bills, etc., etc.

Lastly, nephew, when we get our 25 percent, many of us will shop for our needs. Our expense will go into our government coffers, which will become a revolving fund, interest payment to DB members. The process will continue to revolve again to government needs. What’s happening, Ambrosio my nephew? Has your common sense abandoned you?

Another thing, casino will not happen right away. The hotel infrastructure will be built first, but the license of $15 million for casino will continue to be paid. That is another $30 million for the next two years.

You better try to catch your common sense and go back to school to learn your arithmetic, my son.

Oh, about calling you my black nephew is just the gospel truth. That is what you are. You have no other color. And you are a man and not a woman. You dig, my nephew. You being my nephew, you marry a local woman who happens to be on both sides of my family tree. Her father is the son of the best auntie in our family. Her mom is a niece of mine of the Deleon Guerrero blood. You do not have to respect me, but just care of your family. Ciao.

  1. Pete, take it easy and calm down. The prohibition of MJ must end the way alcohol did. It shall be treated the way we treat tobacco and alcohol. MJ has tremendous amount of medical value. The gateway to harder drugs is tobacco and alcohol. MJ is not addictive like tobacco. It is the safest illegal drug in the streets.

    1. Not only that, but why placed pot under Schedule 1 of the CSA when it has medical value. Under this schedule pot is classified as dangerous and addictive without medical value. It is treated like PCB which is not true. I don’t think Pete understand the drug classification and drug schedule like most people in the CNMI.

  2. “Pretty soon people who smoke marijuana will look for stronger drugs. So that is where the trouble begins, when Mary Jane smokers switch”
Eh, bradan Pangie! You really need to study-research carefully first before presenting your thesis papers with man-made lies. Get real Pangie!

  3. MJ is good medical value but in Saipan it’s not gonna bring in enough cash flow for our economy.

    1. Better to have some than none. Little money can mean a lot. The Hagmang Health Clinic can use this little money to buy little supplies to the clinic, like bandages and toilet tissues.
