Tinian waters get green flag

The Division of Environmental Quality assigned a green flag to beaches on Tinian after an analysis of samples collected from the island’s beaches and storm drainages this week showed no excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria that exceed the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards.

The division analyzed samples of marine recreational and storm drainage water from nine locations on Tinian this week as part of the regularly scheduled sampling. Marine Water Reports are also provided at www.deq.gov.mp/section.aspx?secID=4 and http://www.cnmicoralreef.net/wq/beachcloseweeklyresults.htm. Interested individuals and organizations can also receive email notifications of the weekly marine water quality reports. To do so, send an email to environment@deq.gov.mp.
