Betel nut and cancer
Reading the article concerning lifting the ban on trading of betel nut between Saipan and Guam, it sounds like it is a positive step to save our economy on the island. However, has anybody looked into the effect of betel nut on the health of the people of the islands and the proven and historical story of betel nut chewing and fatal cancer development in India?
