Hallmark is MGA’s December Ace

Don Hallmark clinched the final spot on the Marianas Golf Association’s Ace of Aces Tournament after topping the group’s December monthly event held last Sunday on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.

Hallmark survived the windy and occasional afternoon rains to finish with a gross score of 93. With a handicap of 24, he earned a 69 net for a one-shot win over August Ace Ned Norita’s 70.

Norita ended up with a gross score of 78 and has an eight handicap. MGA president J.J. Atalig, the April Ace winner and a three handicapper, was third at 72 following a 75 gross. The December Monthly Ace also served as the first day of MGA’s yearend Ace of Aces championship.

Hallmark joins other monthly Ace winners Peter “Dung” Tenorio (January), Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho (February), Jessica Sonoda (March), Gerald Guerrero (May), Calvin Yamagishi (June), Jason Sablan (July), Rob Davis (September), James Benavente (October), and Marco Peter (November).

MGA vice president David Largent led the closest to the pin winners at No. 3 with Camacho clinching the same award at No. 7, and Guerrero and Norita besting everyone at Nos. 13 and 17, respectively.
