Despite this year’s COVID-19 pandemic, TanHoldings and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation still pushed through with its 5th Field of Heroes” event at the American Memorial Park last Sept. 11, 2020, to recognize and honor all community heroes like the police, firefighters, and the CNMI’s first responders. A total of 500 flags containing the names of all community heroes on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, were planted at the AMP. The park’s flag itself at the Court of Honor was lowered to half-staff to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the Set. 11, 2001, attacks and to honor all who perished in the attacks. Later that same day, the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services participated in a roadside waving at the Atkins Kroll Intersection in San Jose, in the spirit of unity and remembering all Sept. 11 heroes.
