Rotaract Club of Saipan inducts five more members
Under the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Saipan, the Rotaract Club of Saipan inducted five more members during a ceremony held at Kanoa Resort last Nov. 6.
The new members are Suzanne Jetnil, Hillary Agulto, Genelin Camacho, Querlaine Blas, and Vinni Orsini.
According to Mendiola, “this induction ceremony is a long time coming. We had to postpone our induction for many reasons, including the typhoon. Our continuing goal is to recruit more members but it’s our biggest struggle because it is very hard to find people who are willing to commit to the mission of Rotary, which is service above self. This year our motto is ‘Be a gift to the world’ and we’re going to carry this out through service activities. This will be our second year and none of this would’ve been possible without the support of the Rotaract Club of Guam, Rotary Club of Saipan, our families and our current and active members.”
Rotary members in attendance were director of new generations Sapuro Rayphand, Ben Babauta, and Wendell Posadas.
Rotaract stands for Rotary in action and originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 in Charlotte, North Carolina. It has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,539 clubs spread around the world and 219,397 members. It is a service, leadership, and community service organization for young men and women between the ages 18 to 30. Rotaract focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplaces. While Rotary clubs serve as sponsors, Rotaract clubs decide how to organize and run their club and what projects and activities to carry out.
