Talk is cheap: Part I
I read the letter about the Democrats having some problems but what the author didn’t know was I just recently joined the Democratic Party and the first thing I did was to review and help them with finalizing their platform. The document he read had been put together back in April and I will be the first to say the author was within his right to interpret the Democrat’s gubernatorial talking points. However, if not contextually explained it could easily be perceived as prejudice, but that was not the intent nor was it their platform. So the assessment of the flyer is a bit too late as it is no longer being used and the official platform will be released any day now in a formal setting with the media.
One of the main reasons I joined and offered to help the Democratic Party is because they are not prejudice and they have a real plan to fix our economy. It was obvious they wanted to assert protection of their cultural beliefs and traditions, which may have offended some people. However, protecting cultural identity and desiring to continue practicing traditions is not prejudice, but it is wrong to label the entire party as being prejudiced, based on a flyer. For the first time in years we have a party that will truly listen to and respect the people even though they may have been a bit overzealous in their concern for the welfare of the local people in their flyer. But you really can’t blame them to some degree given what has happened in their history and what they witnessed in Hawaii and Guam. There is nothing wrong with the Democrats placing local youths and jobs before the status of CWs? There is nothing wrong with Democrats wanting to guarantee local political sovereignty—it is not prejudice or discriminatory? It must also be understood and even appreciated that someone must look out for the NMDs interest, so if not the Democrats then who? None of the other three gubernatorial candidates have said a single word about the welfare of the NMDs and only the Democratic Party candidates are showing true fortitude for the local people.
My concern is who the author feels is truly worthy of being the next governor, given the author’s admonishment that the GOP, the Democrats and the two independents are nearly the same? So if we follow his thinking, no one deserves to be governor, which we know can’t happen. The Democrats are not what you think they are as you may have interpreted in the flyer because if they were truly racist readers know I would not be helping them. I can tell this author is excited and really wants to bite and bark and any and everything to make a difference in the CNMI just like I did when I first started writing letters. But I know it takes more than writing letters about all the problems in the papers to fix our problems as talk is cheap but action changes things. So I would like to extend an invitation to the author to join us and help the Democrats to meet his expectation because that is what I did and the Democrats are going to fix the CNMI if elected. So please think about putting some efforts behind your mouth and start walking your talk because talk is cheap and opinions are like rear ends, we all have one.
The Democratic Party is taking on new challenges and offering new alternative solutions that have never been addressed by the present or previous administrations.
I hope this author is wise enough to know that a lot of people are waiting and even want us to bump heads and attack each other for their own entertainment. But the best thing we can do for the Commonwealth is to join forces and help the Democrats to cure our sick democracy as we both want the same thing for the CNMI: good accountable government, economic prosperity and equality for all citizens.

Sounds good but I’ll wait for the official platform to come out before making my official comment. Have a good day, Mr. Bennett!
Ambrose, Danny Quitigua exhibits an apparent vile hatred for non-NMDs. I for one call that rampant racism. Try replacing “NMD” with “White American” in all of the rhetoric spewed by these guys and included in their materials. You would most certainly be screaming racism “for true.” But even setting such issues aside. Visit the Dem’s website. It is full of dead links. Visit their Facebook page. Every link to the party’s website is misspelled and inoperable. Do we want this kind of carelessness in government? I think not.
Sounds like the Obamacare failure and fiasco which is legitimately scary!
“One of the main reasons I joined and offered to help the Democratic Party is because they are not prejudice and they have a real plan to fix our economy.”
Mr. Bennet,
Over the years, we respected your opinions, but your statement above is untrue. They had been telling our local population derogatory comments relating to our contract workers in the CNMI. We were invited to their gathering several times in the past and we refused for their ideology discriminates a certain group. Not only they exhibit hatred towards our contract workers, they had shown that they had no respect to other non NMDs United States Citizens in our island chain. You may preach your belief that your new found group are not bias and racist, but based on our assessment on the way they preach or campaign throughout our community is bothersome. Why instill hate towards the people who had contributed to our betterment of our society? Why try to win an election by instilling fear within our local population?
We had respected your opinion over the years, but we have to draw the line and let us be honest to ourselves that there are people out in our community who will go the extra mile to use the race card.
We personally herd this groups speak behind doors in the past and we don’t want anything to do with their racist agenda. For non NMDs voters in the CNMI, it is time to stand up for what is right in our island chain and let us put a stop to this one sided or racist CNMI Constitution which favor one race over others.
Talk is not cheap, the word of mouth will be the determinant who will win this coming CNMI General Election. We don’t want to support people who think that their race is superior. Hatred is not the answer in our island chain. Have nice day Sir.

Ambrose “Jerome” just an editorial comment — Youth is already plural so no need to put an S at the end and in this context the word is prejudiced with a d at the end. Perhaps thats the way they talked in prison when you were there but if you are truly an educator then please use appropriate english.
…and by the way Ambrose, a “poly-scientist” is a scientist of many different scientific disciplines. For example Francis Galton (Darwin’s cousin) was a “poly-scientist” who conducted research in mathematics, anthropology, climate studies, statistics, biology, and psychology. While you may hold a degree in Political Science, you are not a “poly-scientist.” Every time you open your mouth or put pen to paper you confirm that your words are in fact cheap!
