The 2nd Amendment and our blatant disregard of it

This is an extremely controversial subject pertaining to our 2nd Amendment rights under the U.S. of A’s Constitution and Bill of Rights. More specifically, the right to bear arms.

I have a lot of friends in the United States who wonder how the CNMI could blatantly disregard this right and how come no one’s challenging this violation at the judicial level.

Now all the states and certain territories have built in safeguards to make it harder for certain individuals to own and even have in their possession certain firearms, for example automatic weapons. This is a definite no-no, anyway you look at it. There are also certain semi-automatic weapons, i.e., AR-15’s.

Now on a personal note, I abhor guns for certain reasons I don’t want to share with you. People say that firearms will be more accessible to the criminal element. FYI, they’ve already got them! Now we need them to protect ourselves from them! I really hate to say this but if given the choice between my family and the triads, the yakuza and certain local people with dubious characteristics, I’ll take the gun any day! Just because I don’t like them, don’t think I can’t use them.

It’s a sad day when the CNMI has to take this law and start implementation of our 2nd Amendment rights. As I stated, there are certain guidelines that have to be put into place to make sure the wrong elements don’t have access to firearms. Now if you believe everything I’ve written, call or visit your representative on the Hill, light a fire under their collective asses and make this a law.

It’s at a point where we need to take action and not wait for others to do it for us, and that’s even if they decided to do anything at all! We are at war with criminal elements that we can’t even see. Don’t wait before it’s too late!

  1. Unfortunately what it will take to wake up these elected is for one of the many Muslims in the NMI to kill a lot of people as there will be little, if any opposition from the cops as on the whole they do not have the resolve to get into an gun battle with some shoot back at them. (except maybe a few that have been in the military) Same goes with many of the local civilians that have long guns, unless they have lived in the mainland and owned guns there or were also in the military.
But this case challenging this local law is still in court so we shall see the results possibly this year, hopefully.
