Community Briefs – April 11, 2016
Small craft advisory cancelled
The CNMI Emergency Operations Center has cancelled the small craft advisory advisory as winds have decreased below small craft advisory levels.
Based on the information received from the National Weather Service, Tiyan Guam and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center, moderate trade winds and combined seas of 6 to 8 feet are expected through Sunday with both winds and sea heights decreasing slightly by Sunday night. A weak trade wind disturbance will bring scattered showers to the Marianas late Saturday and early Sunday morning.
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres is advising the general public and inexperienced mariners— especially those operating smaller vessels—to continue to exercise caution as the sea and wind will remain just below hazardous level for a few days. (PR)
