UFO to unveil new bus stop
The United Filipino Organization is inviting the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly-built school bus stop across the Commonwealth Health Center in Garapan on Jan. 22 at 9am.
UFO, in collaboration with SuperTech, has been working on this project since late 2019. The ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday signals the completion of the project.
“I want all the money that we fundraised to go back into the community, so this is our way of giving back,” said UFO president Marcelo Masilungan, who also owns SuperTech.
Whoever will be attending the event should be at the site before 8:45am, since they will be having a short program before the ceremony.
According to Masilungan, the UFO got their funds from basketball tournaments they hosted and the recent Pistang Pinoy. (Justine Nauta)

Water service outage in parts of Gualo Rai
There will be a scheduled water service interruption for portions of Gualo Rai mainly for customers located along Gualo Rai Road on the west side of the Gualo Rai traffic light on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, from 8am to 5pm. Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of water services soon after.
The purpose of this water interruption is to allow CUC’s contractor, AIC Marianas Inc., to connect the new 8-inch distribution main to the existing 16-inch main as part of CUC’s Gualo Rai Waterline Replacement Project funded by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As a result of the waterline replacement, a more reliable water system will be provided to the community. (PR)
