CCA support meeting this Thursday

All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the Commonwealth Cancer Association support meeting tomorrow, July 13, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. Youth fishing derby on Rota on July 23

The Rota Mayor’s Office will be hosting a youth fishing derby at the Teteto Beach on Sunday, July 23, from 9am to 4pm. Interested participants must fill out application forms at the Rota Mayor’s Office. Participants must be ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 12. There will be an orientation at the Teteto Pavilion on Sunday, July 23, at 8:30am. Cash prizes will be given to the participant who collects the most number of fish. Prizes are $75 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. (MVA)

VA social worker to visit Saipan

Tiare Peterkin, a licensed clinical social worker and suicide prevention coordinator with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Pacific Islands Health Care Systems, is on Saipan until today, July 12, to conduct outreach among veterans here and train providers on the VA’s services and resources for veterans in crisis. Ongoing gambling survey

The Substance Abuse & Rehabilitation Program is conducting a “Gambling Survey” to gather baseline data in order to help determine if a further comprehensive screening tool or assessment is needed in regards to gambling in the CNMI. An online version of the survey can be taken at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FDKXYNH. The last day to complete the online survey is this Saturday, July 15, 2017. PH consular outreach on Saipan

A team from the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam, is on Saipan until July 13 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe for biometrics capturing of e-passport applications. WSR now accepting registrations

William S. Reyes Elementary School is now accepting registration for new and returning students for school year 2017-2018. Parents and guardians will need the following documents: updated health certificate, updated student insurance/Medicaid, birth certificate (new students), legal guardianship documents (if applicable/must be issued by a U.S. court system; affidavit and power of attorney do not apply). If legal guardianship documents were issued by a foreign court system, all documents must be translated and certified through a U.S. court system. Visit the school to register. GMS registration

Green Meadow School is now accepting registration for new and returning students for first to eighth grade for school year 2017-2018. Visit the GMS business office in Chalan Kiya or Gualo Rai and pick up the registration form. We are also opening registration for first grade at the Gualo Rai branch. Oleai Elementary School is now accepting registration for new and returning students for school year 2017-2018. Parents and guardians of returning students are also asked to update registration and all supporting documents. Registration forms are available at our main office. MHS registration ongoing

Registration for new incoming and returning students for Marianas High School is ongoing until July 31, 2017. Copies of all required documents must be attached before your child can be registered. Call 664-3800/01 or visit www.marianashighschool.com for more information. (PR)

SSHS registration

Saipan Southern High School is now accepting registration for new and returning students for school year 2017-2018. Come to our main office and pick up registration forms. All requirements must be turned in. Call 664-4000/2 for any other information. (PR)

KHS registration

Kagman High School is accepting registrations all summer.  It is ideal to get your registration submitted ASAP to get your child scheduled in the optimum classes they need to graduate!  So far we have received less than 150 registrations from returning students.   We have also received very few registration forms from incoming freshmen!  Please don’t delay, register your child for school today.
