Chamber meeting on Wednesday
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will have its next general membership meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 11:30am, at the Seaside Hall of Kanoa Resort. Meeting will begin at noon. Guest speakers will be Andrew Bonney, SRVP Planning for Cape Air, and Jim Wolf, Sustainability Director. Bonney is flying out from Boston to address the membership. Luncheon cost for SCC members if $20; non-members pay $30. (SCC)
Marines training at Warning Area 517
The U.S. Marines will conduct training at Warning Area 517 Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 from 9am to noon. The general public especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators are advised to stay clear of the area during the times and dates indicated. W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprised of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. (PR)
