The recently concluded 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic by Hyatt Regency Saipan was super successful for a one-day event. Organizational coordination and list of sponsorships from on and off island businesses was truly amazing. We were particularly impressed by hole-by-hole layout of volunteers/helpers and their charming and enthusiastic encouragement for all players. Even their synchronized flag-waving signals were well rehearsed. At every hole golfers were met by group of volunteers/helpers happily informing players of what the particular hole offers as a prize for a golfer to win.
Throughout the course golfers were provided with more abundance of drinks and drink carts were regularly making the rounds to make sure that no single golfer gets thirsty. The hotdog station was an energy booster, which was really great and the volunteers/helpers were just wonderfully pleasant. With the exceptions of hole No. 13 where a short delay occurred. Nothing irritates golfer the most than to disrupt his/her golf tempo/rhythm but the two young volunteers/helpers manning the hole were very conversant and engaging with players which eased frustrations, otherwise, everything else was just pleasing to golfers.
Though no cash prizes were offered to golfers, fully paid airline round-trip tickets to Asia were available for ticket purchased winners. Similarly with off-island free hotel accommodations to Hyatt Regency affiliates throughout the region were temptingly luring. An abundance of delightful winners were excitedly animated throughout the banquet night. Grace by its culinary talented local chefs the food was just fabulous. No golfers and their guests left the night with half-full stomachs—all were well fed. We are a group of satisfied golf participants and hoping that other tournament sponsors learn from the Hyatt experience.
To the planers/organizers and the delightfulness of all volunteers/helpers, waiters/waitresses, including the emcees, we extend our sincere appreciation and congratulations to all for a job very well done. The 20th year of tournament sponsorship celebration by Hyatt Regency Saipan was something to truly remember.
