Tsunami for the CW

Danny O. Quitugua pretty much laid out the U.S. Public Law 110-229 (CNRA), which has a direct effect on the much-discussed fate of the CW and our local economy.

I agree with his presentation. The whole immigration issue lies with the U.S. Congress. The 27 states of the Union filed a preliminary injunction with the federal court, and was certified by the U.S. Court. The suing states said that President does not have the power to circumvent the U.S. Congress on immigration issues. The Supreme Court voted 4-4 deadlocked and the preliminary injunction on the President’s undocumented workers protection plan held. I haven’t heard anything on this holding injunction yet, but it is a pity. The fight, though, was about the power of the Presidency on immigration and the “end-run” against the congressional jurisdiction on immigration. I wonder how the CWs would take this adverse decision. It is a very big blow. Time will tell.
