Voter registration drive
I guess my love for the CNMI will always inspire me to think how I can be of service to the community and especially to the guest workers even during my short visits here. Last Saturday, I met with some of the Filipino community leaders and we talked about how we can help during this coming election. One of the things discussed in the meeting was doing a voter registration drive for the U.S. citizen children of guest workers who are or will be eligible to vote in November. During the last few days, I have been going around places to talk to these kids and realized that there is really a need to launch a drive to encourage the youth to register. Over a few days, I met several of them who are already of voting age but have not registered yet so I decided to write this letter.
Please visit the Commonwealth Election Commission at http://votecnmi.gov.mp/ and check if you are qualified to register. If you are qualified, please register. Do not waste your opportunity to create a difference, especially in your parents’ lives. I dream that one day the political power of our youth is already built and they are unified so they can be the voice of the guest workers. It is important to keep our families together and have the opportunity to continue to stay here with improved status.
If you are interested to register and need someone to take you there, please call Ronnie at 235-1965, Andrea at 287-9750 or Irene at 285-0258. I am also asking the parents to help us encourage their children and also talk to other parents as well. Those who are interested to volunteer, you may also call or send us a text message.
I am praying for a successful election this year and may those who truly have the heart for the guest workers win.

A MAN HAS A HOUSE, HE INVITES GUESTS TO VISIT. THE GUESTS ARE VERY HELPFUL.
THE MAN GIVE THEM JOBS. SOON THE OWNER CHILDREN GROW UP AND THEY WANT
TO HELP, BUT THE GUESTS REFUSE TO LEAVE. WHAT SHOULD THE OWNER OF THE
HOUSE DO? 1. LET THE GUESTS KEEP THEIR JOBS
2. TELL HIS CHILDRENS THERE IS NO WORK
3. REMINDS THE GUESTS FAMILY FIRST
Sky, we respect your opinion above, but if you look at our economic situation in the CNMI, you may see things differently. We need our guests in our island chain, because they contribute to our economy via paying taxes, paying for goods and services, etc. We travelled across the United States frequently, there are times that we run across a small town with no human insight and the buildings are dilapidating. If we continue to want our guest workers to leave our islands, the impact to our economy is enormous and our government will not have enough money to provide for services or maintain our infrastructures. And our island chain will end up like the abandoned towns which we saw during our cross country driving campaigning throughout the United States.
On a different note, why the capitalization on your writing above and some of your opinions? My professor was mad at me for disagreeing with her ideas and she wanted me to explain myself and she wrote in Capital letters. I found out later that when someone capitalized their response, it means they were angry with the individual they were responding to. Just want to know your mental stage when you were writing your comments above.
SKY was angry like Ray Yumul who wanted contract workers parents of US citizen children not to transfer to other companies by sponsoring H.R. 14-142 althought they were abused and not getting paid of their hard earned salaries. Remember JOLLY BEE!!
THEN THE GUESTS WERE VERY WROUGHT. AND THEY DREAM OF A POLITICAL FORCE. THEY GATHER THEIR CHILDREN AND SAID TO THEM, “GO AND VOTE THAT YOUR RIGHT MAY BECOME THE FORCE OF OUR DREAM, THAT ONE OF YOU WILL BECOME THE GOVERNOR OR THE CONGRESSMAN OR CONGRESS WOMAN WITH PORTION OF OUR BLOOD IN YOUR VEIN, THAT YOU MAY TAKE OVER THE ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD. THIS IS OUR LOVE FOR THE COMMUNITY AND OUR DREAM AS WE MAY LIVE SHORTER. GO ON CHILDREN! GO ON!.”
IN A MANS HOUSE, HIS GUEST MUST CONTRIBUTE, WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE
GUEST. WHAT IF THE GUEST TELL THE OWNER, YOU NEED ME TO CLEAN YOUR
HOUSE, TO DO YOUR ACCOUNTS, TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS..IF I LEAVE YOUR
HOUSE WILL BECOME DILAPIDATED, IT WILL FALL….
WHAT SHOULD THE OWNER OF HIS HOUSE SAY?
1. THE GUEST ARE RIGHT, HERE ARE THE KEYS, CONTROL THE HOUSE
2. IF MY HOUSE STAND OR FALL MY FAMILY HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE THAT
DECISION
3. THE OCEAN IS DEEP, THE HEARTS OF MY FAMILY IS DEEP
