CWA to host FUN-Raise-Her on Nov. 22

Tickets are now on sale for the Women’s “FUN-Raise-Her” dinner, sponsored by the CNMI Women’s Association, a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower women for leadership through education and training opportunities. 
The event will be held at the Hibiscus Hall, Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, on Friday, Nov. 22, from 6pm to 9pm. All are welcome.
For $75 per ticket, guests will be treated to dinner and drinks, live music, and a giveaways.

Emergency water service interruption

There will be a scheduled emergency water service interruption in the areas of Chalan Monsignor Martinez Road, Airport Road Dandan, As Lito, Lower Dandan, Tottotville and portions of Adobu Drive in Koblerville today, Oct. 4, from 8:30am. to 3:30pm. Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in these areas should expect restoration of water service soon after.
The water interruption will allow CUC’s water operations personnel to perform repairs on a damaged 6-inch transmission water line on Exploring Drive along the Airport Road in Dandan.
For the safety of CUC men and women working at the site, motorists are advised to proceed with caution when traveling through the area.

Join the Marianas Writers’ Movement

A free writing workshop about the first step to planning your novel is set for Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, from 1pm to 3pm at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. This project is part of the “Rekindling Marianas Narratives: Write Your Novel!” mini-grant program and is made possible by support from the Northern Marianas Humanities Council, a non-profit, private corporation funded in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this program do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities. (PR)

Releasing of renewed PH passports

The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, in coordination with the Office of Honorary Consul Eli Arago, is releasing passports to those who renewed their Philippine passports last Aug. 15, 16, and 17, 2019. You can pick up the new passports at Finasisu Terraces Apartment Bldg. D, second floor, on top of the Mini-Mart Store, Monday-Friday, from 9am to 5pm (12-1pm breaktime). Bring your old passport and receipt.  If someone else will pick up the passport, an authorization letter from the applicant/s is needed. For any inquiry or more details, call Mel Santos at 233-6293. NGSWCDB meeting set

The Northern Guam Soil and Water Conservation District Board will hold its monthly meeting on Friday, Oct. 4, at the University of Guam, College of Natural and Applied Sciences Bldg., Room 104 at 1:30pm. The annual joint meeting with Southern Guam Soil and Water Conservation District Board is scheduled at 2:30p.m. All government agency and non-government partners are invited to attend. (PR)
