Castro, Kang win SGA monthly club championship

The Saipan Golfers Association congratulates Jess Castro and Harry Kang for winning the February and March SGA monthly club championship tournament, respectively, last Saturday at the Laolao Bay Resort East Course.
Castro shot 39 (3 over par) on the front nine and 37 (1 over par) in the back for a total gross score of 76. With a handicap of 10, Jess came in with the lowest net score of the day at 66 to easily win the February title.
Kang, on the other hand, shot 40 in the front and 48 in the back to secure the title for March. With a 15 handicap, his net score for the day is 73, second best net score of the day.
Third place winner went to newcomer Manny Blas who shot 42 front and 44 back for a total gross score of 86. With a 12 handicap, Blas’ net is 74. Third place winner was awarded to SGA’s president Ray Diaz with a 44 front and 40 back for a total gross score of 84. His handicap is 10.
In the closest to the pin contest, Brian Reyes won hole no. 3, Kang hole no. 6, Ray “Kamikaze Jr.” Santos hole no. 11 and finally, Castro hole no. 15.
All monthly winners may pick up their trophies at Brian Reyes office by March 10, 2000.
