All school swim meet on Nov. 11
The 8th All School Swimming Championships will be held at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool on November 11, 2000 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m..
Swimmers will be competing in three divisions: Elementary School, Junior High, and High School, with the school tallying the most points winning their division trophy.
The criteria for entrance into each division first lies with the grade level the student is currently enrolled in. Elementary School swimmers would be any student in the 6th grade or below, and no older than 12 years old. Junior High swimmers include any student in the 7th or 8th grades, but not over 18 years old. Again, the criteria is based on the school grade, and secondly by age.
The events for the November 11th Championships in the following order are:
1. 4x50m Mixed Medley Relay
2. 200m Individual Medley
3. 100m Butterfly (for Jr. High and High School only)
4. 50m Freestyle
5. 100m Freestyle
6. 50m Breaststroke (Elementary School only)
7. 100m Breaststroke (Jr. High and High School only)
8. 100m Backstroke (Jr. High and High School only)

11. 50m Backstroke (Elementary School only)
12. 400m Freestyle
13. 4x50m Freestyle Relay (Boys and Girls separately)
On Nov. 11th, the championships will start at 8:00 a.m., with warm-ups beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool. At the end of the meet while the awards and team points are being tallied, there will be a short waterpolo match between swimmers of the Saipan Swim Club coached by Alan Buchman.
Everyone is encouraged to watch one of the oldest and toughest Olympic Team sports and our young athletes in action. The game is little bit like soccer only in the water and players cannot stand or hold on to the walls during play. All action is on top of the water, throwing, swimming and shooting. After the match team trophies will be awarded.
