Families are encouraged to attend the family education workshop entitled, “Help Our Children. Prevent Child Abuse” on April 25 at the Oleai Elementary School cafeteria beginning from 5:15pm to 7:30pm.

The workshop will explain what is child abuse, the signs to look out for as well as other topics such as discipline, punishment, foster care, and how to choose a caregiver.

Last week, workshop participants evaluated the workshop as important and necessary to educate families of the Commonwealth, claiming that everyone needs to be informed “so we can spread the news on preventing child abuse and how abuse hurts not only the kids but the whole family as well.”

The workshop is part of the ongoing family education effort of the Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research, Extension and Education Service, Ayuda Network Incorporated and the Division of Youth Services.
