The Superior Court’s clerk office will conduct business at the new Guma Hustisia building in Susupe starting June 21, Clerk of Court Jovy Flores said yesterday.

The Clerk of Court staff started moving office items and equipment last Monday, but Flores said the official operation at the new building will begin on Monday.

Those who need to pay fines and check court records and case files will have to go to the new judicial complex, Flores said.

Flores, however, said the Recorder’s Office will stay at the old building until the end of the month.

“Those who need to get their land documented and those who need to get statistics will have to come to the old Recorder’s Office,” Flores said.

The new judicial complex located across the old Civic Center is designed to house all offices under the judiciary. Only the Supreme Court, the Law Revision Commission, the Family Court, and the Court Marshall have so far moved to the new building.

Family Court Judge Virginia Sablan-Orneheim is already conducting hearings at the second floor of the building.

Flores said the other courtrooms in the new building are not yet equipped with tables and chairs.

“People who need to attend court hearings will have to come to the old court rooms until the transfer is complete,” Flores said.

The Office of the Clerk of Court can be reached at this new telephone number: 236-9765.
