Saving tips from CUC

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. wants to help you save your money. Consider these tips for saving on appliance energy costs:

• Cook several dishes in the over at once.

• Avoid repeatedly opening and closing refrigerator.

• Wash and dry full laundry loads in cold or warm water—not hot water.

• Iron fabrics requiring a low temperature setting first and work up to higher settings,

• Turn down the thermostat on your water heater to 120’F and insulate the tank.

• Set your household thermostat to 78’F in the summer

• Remember to turn off all appliances when not using them.

Study says child care in the US is adequate

The House Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications will introduce new legislation to grant more powers to the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation to oversee the functions of a proposed telecommunications agency in the CNMI.
