A man charged in the Superior Court with several offenses including possession of controlled substance, was allowed yesterday to go out on bail.

Clifford Quitugua Nekai, 28, has been charged with disturbing the peace, assault and battery, possession of controlled substance and obstruction of justice in connection with a brawl in Garapan last week.

Among the conditions set by Superior Court Associate Judge Timothy Bellas for Nekai’s temporary release. was a curfew from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Nekai is not allowed to leave Saipan and was ordered to “stay away from firearms.”

The case stemmed from an incident last July 3, when Nekai’s friends had a fight with two men, identified only as Nicholas and Davis.

Witness Marsha Aaron, a companion of the two men, told the police that Nekai and his friends assaulted her friends.

Police officers, who later responded to the scene, discovered a plastic bag containing “ice” in the possession of Nekai.
