A government employee has accused some staff of Legislative Bureau of discrepancies, such as coming in late for work, taking long lunch break and absenteeism.

Inspite of these, they still get their pay check in full, which he said is unfair to people working in the government under similar contract.

The employee, who did not identify himself for fear of reprisal, has sent a letter to Jess Lizama, director of the Legislative Bureau, to air his grievances and provided a copy to the media.

When sought for comment, Lizama said he was not aware about the letter, but said he would talk to his staff to find out the problems.

The Legislative Bureau, which includes the Office of Clerk for both the House and the Senate and support staff for members of the Legislature, employs about 19 personnel.

“I have seen many of your staff that come in late, go out for long lunch hours and still get paid in full. This has been going on for so long…and it is my opinion that necessary actions should be taken,” the employee wrote to Lizama.
