The Bureau of Environmental Health has closed down American Kai Hua Restaurant after it conducted health and sanitation inspections during Sept. 5-11, 1999. Other various eating and drinking establishments inspected are:

Grade A

Employees Cafeteria, Coral Restaurant, Sea Side Hall Kitchen, Coffee Terrace and San Tanka Karaoke Club — all in Saipan Grand Hotel; Mochies Disco Karaoke, Africa Fine Dining, Sun Palace Motel Snack Bar, Karaoke Music Hall, Managaha Beach Bar, Coral Garden Restaurant and Managaha Barbecue Stand.

Poisoning attempt

Carolinian Affairs executive assistant Frank Rabauliman has condemned the recent poisoning attempt when an unidentified man poured diesel in the water tank at his office.

Police are still investigating the incident which occured on Aug. 31, 1999. Rabauliman said a security guard discovered an empty gasoline container beside the storage tank and immediately reported it to the office.
