If you want a hassle-free journey back home for the holiday season, make sure that you have proper travel documents.

This was the advise of Philippine Consul to the CNMI Julia Heidemann as she urged all Filipinos returning home for the holidays to ensure that they have proper documents to avoid travel woes.

According to Ms. Heidemann, Filipino travelers should check if their passports are still valid or if they have paid the Overseas Employment Certificate, which exempts Filipino overseas workers from paying travel tax.

She also told Filipino workers not leave their passports to Continental Airlines even if the personnel of the air carrier asked them to since the Philippine Consulate had already asked the airline company not to collect passports of Filipinos who do not have U.S. visa.
