Tourist hurt in bag snatching

A 55-year-old Japanese tourist was dragged by about 30 feet when he refused to let go of his bag which was snatched by unidentified men on board a dark colored Sedan at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Jin Pei Ito suffered minor injuries on his arms, hips and legs as a result of the incident. Mr. Ito was walking in front of Remington Bar in Garapan when unidentified men on board a car grabbed his pouch containing 150,000 yen, $500, credit card, camera and key to his hotel room.

$1,000 reward

The CNMI Crime Stoppers would like to call the attention of the person who gave the tip in connection with the Courtney Plaza incident which led to the arrest of the three suspects.

According to Department of Public Safety Information Officer Rose Ada, a reward close to $1,000 is awaiting the person who gave the valuable information.
