Have questions about the Census questionnaires you received in the mail? Are you uncertain how to answer some of the questions? The Questionnaire Assistance Center is now open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Center is located on the 2nd floor at the Department of Commerce on Capitol Hill. Individuals who need help can either call or come into the office. The Center’s phone number is 664-3039 and when the line is busy with callers a message will be taken by voice mail. You can either walk into the office for assistance, or make an appointment that is convenient for you.

Connie G. Kenney and Rita C. Guerrero are well trained Census staff, says Sohale Samari, area manager. They are ready to assist callers with their questions or help with any special needs.

Mr. Samari says if residents did not receive the questionnaire in the mail, Census takers will be bringing questionnaires to the homes when they go door to door. The enumerators will help residents fill out the form at that time. Remember to check for their official I.D. and welcome them.

A complete count will help the CNMI obtain more funding for education, health care, power and roads. In the event of a typhoon or disaster the Census mapping information helps the CNMI obtain disaster relief.

Census posters are free to the public and can be picked up at the new Questionnaire Assistance Center or at the Census headquarters at the Joeten Dan Dan Commercial center on the 2nd floor.
