A 29-year-old Chinese has been charged with trafficking and illegal possession of a controlled substance before the Superior Court.

Huang Jian was apprehended by members of the Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force during a buy-bust operation on April 12, 2000 when agent Frank S. Quitugua, acting as undercover agent, purchased $3,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as “ice”.

The agent contacted Mr. Huang on his cell phone and negotiated for the purchase of 10 grams of ice. Surveillance teams monitored the meeting at the parking lot of Deanna’s Poker Gameroom.

Mr. Huang was caught red handed receiving the money and giving the ice.

Earlier, on March 21, 2000, Mr. Quitugua purchased $300.000 worth of “ice” to Mr. Huang. Again, on April 8, 2000, members of the task force purchased $600.00 worth of ice.
