Eco Adventure Camp will begin its fifth session of the summer on Monday, Aug. 7. Session 5 is available as a one-week course or a two-week course.

“As we approach the beginning of school, we are accepting kids by the day, week, or full two week sessions. We are looking forward to putting on another great program,” said Camp director Keirsten Hess.

Session 4 highlights included a trip to Splash Island, scuba diving with Stingray Divers, jet skiing, music with Denise Hewitt, a field trip to Managaha Island, Polynesian dancing, a visit to Ban Raku, and soccer with a Japanese professional.

“Each session is customized with new activities to ensure that the kids are always doing something new and exciting. The basics stay the same such as water safety, swimming lessons, golf, go karts, and computers, but the field trips and special guests are changed to fit the age groups and ability levels of the kids in camp,” continued the Camp director.

Safety of the kids is the biggest concern at Eco Camp. “We have had over 200 kids participate in our program and have maintained an excellent safety record. With five lifeguards on staff, a lifeguard instructor, and CPR and First Aid trained personnel, we are striving to make camp as safe as possible,” said Hess.

“We also have the kids separated into age groups. Each age group (about 15 kids in each) has two counselors that stay with them throughout the day and lead them through activities. Each counselor has a cell phone that allows parents to stay in touch and the counselors to stay in touch with each other.
This allows us to handle any situations as quickly and safely as possible,” said Hess.

Mariana Eco Adventure Camp runs Monday thru Friday at the Mariana Resort Hotel. It is available for kids and teens between the ages four and 15.
