Mobil Bay crew assists OES

Ten naval officers of the USS Mobil Bay took time yesterday to conduct minor repairs at Oleai Elementary School as part of their Community Relations program.

For six hours, the group was able to mow the campus lawn, paint the comfort rooms, set up physical education equipment, change light bulbs, and other maintenance jobs.

OES Principal Evelyn Manglona expressed appreciation for the goodwill services offered by the visiting naval crew members who are currently on island for a three-day rest and recreation.

“They have been of immense help especially with the little things we were unable to do for the school opening,” said the principal.
Mobil Bay, docked at the port of Saipan, is set to leave today.
