The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation report that winds and rain are causing power interruption problems to CUC’s feeder Kiya 1 customers.

Since about 4:30 yesterday morning, customers have experienced several outages due to faults on power lines caused by tree branches contacting high voltage conductors.

Wires contacting each other due to wind gusts have also resulted in outages affecting customers in the Chalan Kiya, San Vicente, Dan Dan, As Lito, and Koblerville areas.

The temporary nature of the faults are making it difficult to identify and isolate the problems. CUC crews will continue to patrol lines and perform restoration work until all services are back.
