Hyatt Regency Saipan announced that they have selected a number of its staff to undergo Management Development Program, a customized personal program specially designed to accommodate the trainee’s own career aspirations and the company’s professional standards of performance.

Through job-specific training, the Management Development Program provides trainees with a structured learning experience (using Task Lists, Handouts and Assignments), while allowing the flexibility to meet specific program goals and to accommodate the previous work experience of the trainee.

Within the framework provided, the Management Development Program is self-directed. To accomplish objectives, trainees must be self-motivated. They must display skills such as planning objectives, innovation, organizational abilities and social skills. Objectives must be consistently met on schedule.

The Management Development trainees gain more than practical experience. They also benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the existing employees.

“Hyatt believes that these sharing and team efforts are essential to the continual upgrading of performance in every department.
Another benefit of this style of self-directed program is that success is based on the ability of the trainees to make good decisions, maximize learning opportunities, manage schedules and assume responsibilities for their own achievement. It’s these abilities that are fundamental to Hyatt’s management style,” said Josephine Mesta, director of Human Resources of Hyatt Regency Saipan.

The length of the program will depend on each individual’s training needs and previous experience, and is typically between 12 and 18n months duration. The time spent on the program will also vary with the degree to which the trainee is full- or part-time on the program (i.e. whether his/her time is dedicated fully to the training program or whether the training program is in addition to other job duties).

“In Hyatt International, we firmly believe that regular on-the-job training is the most effective way of ensuring that the graduates achieve the desired standards of performance in the shortest time possible,” added Ms. Mesta.

Hyatt Regency Saipan is proud to announce that the following individuals have been selected for Hyatt’s Management Development Training Program for this year, which starts today: Erwin Cuenca, assistant manager Front Office; Kyoko Wada, guest relations Supervisor; Habib Akbar, chef de partie; Julius Rogolofoi, cook; Jay Rathore, Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant manager; Takakiyo Sekine, Miyako Japanese Restaurant manager, Vilamendu Das, Food & Beverage supervisor; Nizam Omar, Gilligan’s assistant manager; Mitsuo Ueda, Kili Cafe Restaurant assistant manager; and Denise Montenegro, Kili Cafe Restaurant manager.
