Only five of the 11 teams in the Bud Light Four Person Beach Volleyball League finished with records over .500. There have been heartbreaks and upsets all season long, but everything will be resolved on Tuesday, October 10th as the play-offs take place at the Pacific Islands Club. One thing that has already been decided is that the last two weeks leading up to the finals have been full of awesome volleyball action.

T-8 Reef (4-6) has surged from the bottom three to the top eight in the standings by winning three of their last four matches. They completed this uphill battle on Thursday knocking off a tough NoFear (4-6) team. Southpaw Dimas Omar has led the charge. Omar has come up with some huge digs and served tough in every game. T-8 is a family affair, and sisters Julie Omar-Agwo and Jovie Omar have really poured it on down the stretch. T-8 will face SOS Bandits (4-6) on Tuesday at 9:00 pm to decide the seventh place finisher.

Moving up the ladder, the battle for fifth place will be between Lip service (7-3) and No Fear at 8:00 pm. These two teams met a week ago with Lip Service winning two out of three games to take the match. The first game was an eleven to zero shut out. No Fear will have revenge on their minds, and they have something prove having lost their last three matches.

Starting things of on Tuesday at 6:00 pm will be Coffee Care (7-3) and Fro Daddy Ding Dongs (8-2). Coffee Care was in the running for first place until Managaha (9-1) beat them down last Tuesday night. Bragging rights and prizes are on the line. Th Fro Daddy Ding Dongs was one of three teams to beat last season’s defending champions. One can be assured that neither team wants to miss out on a chance at being in the money.

The big match of the night will pit two teams that waged volleyball war on Thursday night, DFS Super All Stars (8-2) and Managaha. It was a big week for the team from the little island off the coast of Saipan. They beat Coffee Care on Tuesday and punctuated their great season by soundly defeating DFS Super All Stars two days later. Neither rain nor Doug Mauro could stop Akane Isabelle Edna and crew. They hope that their good fortune will continue and translate into a first place finish on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the prime time match-up.

Last Thursday night also proved that it isn’t always about being number one, but that there is a lot to be said for not being eleventh. That is what was on minds of Stirred Not Shaken (1-9) and the Flinstones-Stoned Aged (0-10) as they headed into their final match. Team captain, Dale Roberts, came up with the big serves in a heavy downpour when he needed them and Stirred Not Shaken won their first match of the season. While, The Flinstones went winless for the season. “It is too bad that both teams couldn’t have won,” said one enthralled fan.
