Newly elected MVA board member resigns

Kiyoshi Aikawa, recently re-elected to the Marianas Visitors Authority Board of Directors, turned in his resignation to Chair Dave Sablan during the last MVA board meeting held recently.

Mr. Aikawa, general manager of JALPAK, had just started his second term as an elected board member during the last general membership meeting, which was held last June 29, 2000. He was first elected and sworn in on Aug. 5, 1998 and has been chair of the Tourist Site Development Committee during both of his terms. He has also been chair of the Japan Saipan Travel Association (JSTA).

Mr. Aikawa was recently promoted and is being transferred to his new assignment at the JALPAK head office in Japan.

Miyoshi Fujita, general manager of R&C Tours will be replacing Mr. Aikawa and is set to be sworn in during the next board meeting scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27, 2000.
