Two performances of Christmas music have been scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 16th and 17th.

On Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Kristo Rai Catholic Church in Garapan, the program will be dedicated to the memory Father Gary Bradley.

On Sunday, Dec. 17th at 7:00 p.m. the chorale will perform at the Seventh-Day Adventist church.

This annual community event will feature both choral music and solos with some bagpipe and dulcimer music tossed in to make it more exciting. Shawn Reynolds will play dulcimer, Bob McDowell will sing Oh Holy Night and Chris Bull will perform a medley on his bagpipes.

There will be both an adult choir and a children’s choir from the Northern Marianas College Lab School. The 20-member adult choir will sing the traditional Christmas songs Of a Father’s Love Begotten, Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Marianas Noel. Away in a Manger will be a joint rendition by both the adult and children’s choir.

The children will sing Island Christmas, Deck the Halls, The Christmas Rush, and The Reindeer Rap.

Both choirs are directed by Denise Hewitt and accompanied by specially recorded music performed by Will deWitt.

The Friends of the Arts hope that everybody in the community will take advantage of this opportunity to add a little Christmas cheer to their holiday season. Admission is free and everyone is invited.
